Description
The Wunderkammer, which we could translate as “chambers of wonders”, were rooms intended for the collection of natural specimens and rare artefacts of various kinds.
Generally, the finds contained in these rooms were divided between: Naturalia, rare things – in shape or size – discovered in nature, and Artificialia, original objects expertly crafted.
The concept of Wunderkammer dates back to the Middle Ages, but has seen these spaces evolve over time up to today’s museum that we all know.
I therefore liked the idea of recreating, with my jewels, a miniature museum in your jewelery boxes.
